Palm Frond Passage began as an original digital design created in Procreate, where I could experiment freely with shape, line, color and movement.
 
The composition combines powerful red and black geometric forms with a bright green palm-frond-inspired pattern running through the center. The contrast gives the artwork a strong sense of movement, almost as though the green forms are passing through a larger abstract landscape.
 
Procreate has become an important part of my creative process because it allows me to explore ideas before translating selected designs into physical artwork. I can experiment with proportions, colors and combinations quickly while still maintaining the hand-drawn character that defines my work.
 
Although Palm Frond Passage is contemporary and geometric, the colors and patterns also reflect the Southwestern influences that surround my work in New Mexico.
 
For me, the finished design represents movement, growth and finding a path through complexity—a passage through the unexpected.
