Canyon Light is an original abstract artwork inspired by the light, movement, and striking contrasts of the American Southwest.
 
Bold turquoise forms sweep through areas of deep black and open white space, creating a composition that feels both energetic and balanced. Sharp geometric edges meet flowing curves, giving the artwork a sense of movement—as though light is shifting across the walls and shadows of a desert canyon.
 
The turquoise palette draws inspiration from the colors so closely associated with New Mexico and the Southwest, while the contemporary geometric composition takes those influences in a distinctly modern direction.
 
The name Canyon Light reflects that moment when intense Southwestern sunlight transforms the landscape, creating brilliant highlights, deep shadows, and constantly changing shapes.
 
Rather than representing a specific place, Canyon Light is my abstract interpretation of that experience—color, movement, landscape, and light reduced to their essential forms.
 
Canyon Light is part of my continuing exploration of contemporary Southwestern art, combining geometric abstraction with the colors and visual energy of the desert.
